Louise Kiiver

Louise has a background in gymnastics and yoga. Circus skills were a natural progression for her, seeking new types of physical expression with a strong creative aspect. After her discovery of circus, she attended regular classes in tumbling, handstands, contortion, adagio, clowning, and aerials. Her love for vertical arts grew, and so did her own personal practice. As well as seeking out private classes with high level aerial artists, including former Cirque de Soleil trapeze artist, Olga Sidorova. Louise attended national training with the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, as well as Aerial performance workshops with Dancing in the Air in Sydney. She has trained internationally in San Fransisco at the Circus Centre, and in Germany at the Katokomben Performing Arts Centre. She has also attended the Tasmanian Circus Festival and the Lunar Circus festival, to further her skills as a teacher and performer on multiple occasions.

Louise wrote, produced and directed her first circus show ‘Cats on Curtains’ in 2015, which was staged locally in Cairns and highly acclaimed. Followed by her second production ‘Forbidden Fruit’ aerial show which was a sell out show in 2022.

Louise has more than 12 years’ experience, teaching and performing. She has performed at a range of events including corporate events, cabaret shows, local theatre productions and music festivals. She has also travelled extensively throughout the region, performing and teaching workshops in remote communities.

Evie Clinton

With a background in circus skills which were DEVELOPED from a young age, Evie naturally progressed into aerial arts to challenge herself as a teacher and as an artist. due to the challenging nature and refined DISCIPLINE that was required for aerial artistry, evie developed as a trainer and as an artist through ongoing workshops and teacher training which spanned over many years. exploring new types of circus skills is Evie’s Passion. as one of Aerial Dynamics founding students, Evie found her natural flow and high energy was a perfect match for aerial arts exploration as a teacher, as well as a performing artist.

Evie has endeavoured to peruse her own development in the aerial arts from a young age including attending workshops with former Cirque Du Soleil trapeze artist Olga Sidorova, visiting and training with the National Circus Festival on multiple OCCASIONS and competing in the La Folie state aerial competition in Brisbane. seeking out new experiences to grow as a professional in the circus INDUSTRY through new training and performance experiences. Evie has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on as a teacher and guide for STUDENTS of all ages.

All of her personal training and pursuit for growth in the air has made her a teacher who strives to reach all of her students on a personal level, adapting to meet their needs and find new and creative ways to reach them.

With 10 years of experience in the air, Evie’s teaching style mixes strength and discipline with creativity and physical expression.

Megan Greene

With a background in dance, Megan joined her first Aerial Dynamics class in 2012.

She describes aerials as a challenging and rewarding art form, and the perfect creative outlet for maintaining fitness.

Now, as a trainer, she has a passion for helping others excel. Her personal experience of schoolyard bullying has highlighted the importance of strength and confidence in young women and therefore Megan encourages each of her students to explore and build on their individual strengths. She is skilled at guiding students through difficult sequences, and adapting new types of movements for different skill levels.

Megan performs and teaches here is Cairns.

Elyra Callander

From a young age Elyra has been captivated by creative expression and contemporary movement infused with emotional passion. In 2013 at the age of 10 Elyra joined Aerial Dynamics. She found a soul purpose in aerial arts in the very early stages of training. As time went on Elyra developed an immense passion for aerial arts which led her to becoming an inspiring and motivating trainer for the emerging aerial artists at Aerial Dynamics. Throughout her aerial journey she has nourished and expanded on her love and passion for aerial arts through performing and teaching. Elyra connects with her students on a heart level. She encourages them to connect with a highly emotional perspective in their aerial practice, which is a unique approach to this type of skill development.

Elyra’s personal training consists of perfecting sequences, movement flow and improving her overall fitness. She only strives for the absolute best and is endlessly critiquing herself notably. This is shown through her teaching as she pushes her students positively to excel in their creative endeavors. Elyra has become an inspiring teacher to students of all ages.

Elyra’s personal achievements include placing in the La Folie state aerial competition in 2021 - Coming first place in the intermediate aerial silks division which was her first ever competition. In 2022 Elyra attended her second La Folie competition and placed second in the advanced aerial silks division. In La Folie nationals Elyra placed second in advanced aerial silks in 2022 also. Locally in Cairns Elyra has performed at many local events including corporate events and music festivals know to our region. She has continually impressed her audiences with her stage presence and fine tuned aerial skills.

Melissa Van Herk

Melissa began her aerial silks journey in Sydney and trained at Bah Hah circus for several years. She trained with Stuart Christi, a nica graduate, who toured with circus oz with more than 15 years experience as a professional artist. Melissa joined the Aerial Dynamics team in 2022. Along with her background in various sports, Melissa has always had a love for circus arts. She attended circus festivals on regular occasions exploring new skills. attending additional training at these events helped Melissa further develop her creative passion in the air. She was captivated by the combination of strength and grace required by aerial arts, and decided to focus her learning in this new creative pathway with significant emphasis.

Melissa has developed a consistent practice and strong technique, which has led to teaching these skills to up and coming artists. She delights in sharing her passion for creativity and self-empowerment through teaching aerial skills to all willing students.

Melissa loves to see more and more people joining aerial arts who wish to also explore their creative talents in the air. Her love for aerials and pursuit of personal growth has seen her develop into a trainer who support her students to explore openly their personal limitations and reach their goals. To see them develop in strength, resilience, and self-confidence through learning new skills with proper guidance creates connection, artistic flare and enthusiasm. Instigating this process brings Melissa a great feeling of satisfaction as a teacher and as an artist.
